They did, and those are very non-oem screws holding the numbered plaque on.

According to the book I have all the Euro models should be silver.

The yoke plaque should be attached with rivets and not what look like self-tapping screws.

Otherwise it looks ok.

Frank

PS - Just emailed the seller to advise him of the same; poor guy might not know!

Yeh - you cant knock someone for changing a ducati's colour to red after all
The standard 'loud' cans included with the FE's were Silmotos though, so unless it was dropped - why change them as well ?

I seem to remember that On Yer Bike (I think it was) had a few of the FE's painted up in red (which was nice, cos they look much better than the revolting FE silver).

Must be one of those, unless the plaque on the top yoke is telling porkies...

Nice looking bike. Not much money. (must resist, must resist...)

It's just a '96 Superlight with 'orrible cans and a swiped FE plaque. I would've thought it'd be worth much more as a standard Superlight. Muppet.

The screws on the plaque are a bit of a giveaway!

btw, I think some of them were painted red originally - look at #227

Just got an Email back from the owner - says it was FE Silver originally but, he couldnt live with the colour and had it resprayed.

Plaque was mounted that way when he got it.

Takes all sorts!

Still a bit suspect with a Plaque mounted like that, I cant see why they needed to remove it in the first place
