The nuts all came off without too many problems - sometimes it's great that Ducati make their fasteners out of cheese!

One had to be completely chiselled off in 3 bits, but came off the stud really clean. Two loosened with a few whacks of the chisel then came off with the spanner and the other came off no problems.

The exhausts are now out completely, so it's now just wheels and an engine in the frame!

Now to get some stands to pull the rest apart...

Pics to follow.

Headstock stand - looks good and I missed an Ebay bargain when it was sold for £49.99

pins are very reasonable - stand looks to be good quality but a bit expensive:

Got the shock off tonight, and it's in very, very good condition given the age and condition of some of the rest of the bike! That will be sent away, along with the forks, to my new mate Clive Horton at Racing Lines who also happened to be my ACU academy instructor today!

The swingarm is the next thing to come off, and I'll take the opportunity to check the bushes and stuff, along with fitting the lower chain guard. Then I'll drop the engine out.

I also attempted to clean out the fuel tank - my god there was some crap in the tank! plenty of rust in the bottom and the first litre of petrol out of the drain was rusty as hell. I've taken the pump out too and the inner tank filter definitely needs replacing as it's got plenty of crap in it too. The outer cap ring is also a right state, but that will be polished up without too much problem, and I have a non-locking cap for it too which looks awesome.

Oh yes, the fuel tap also snapped off as the alu was so badly corroded! Any ideas? Might replace it with something a bit more accessable like on the monsters...
