I'm sure it'd be cheaper and easier to increase your bandwidth and use some bandwidth software throttling as Mr S says.

If not, try something like eMule instead of torrent and set the max bandwidth value to half of your available bandwidth.

eMule is your friend.

Cheers,

Ali

Hi Lily -

Look into what ISP;s in your area can provide you the most bandwidth - the cable providers tend to have the best bandwidth deals, although you'll find now that there are many DSL providers doing 2Mb, 4Mb, and in the metro areas there are some now doing 8Mb.

If you are doing lots of P2P then you need to make sure that your provider doesnt impose any downstream limits (capping). Also, if you are sharing files on your PC (hey, someone has to!!), then you need to consider upstream speed you are allowed - typically 256, but can be lower than that on some providers. And if hubby is running a sharing server then maybe you want to consider an SDSL connection...

but, guess if you are heading down our way then it doesnt really matter!
