Temperature Gauge problem now solved ! May be of intrest to you.

Last year I reported on this site and to all my local dealers a problem with my temperature.
Suggestions were put forward, but nothing could be found. Even the dealers had not heard of this problem.
At between 6-7000 RPM the temperature dropped until at 8-9000 RPM the gauge was off the scale in the cold position. For whatever reason this problem went away that was last June 04.
Now it has come back and this time I have nailed it !
Even though I checked all the conections in relation to the temperature, my inspections were not thorough enough.
Its only the single spade conection on the water temperature sender unit. Although it is on, when the revs rise on the engine it starts to vibrate and so cuts the feed to the gauge. The higher the revs the more it vibrates the worse the conection the lower the gauge.
It sounds so simple but believe me it had me stumped. I checked and double checked everything.
To all those who put forward helpful coments I thankyou.
I hope this will be of use to someone in the future.
Now whos got an alternative to the spade conector ?

Cheers all Kev
