Nothing at all. Make sure your leathers have a cover over your zip, make sure the zip is plastic then use plenty of T-cut and polish if you pick up any scratches.
I have had the same problem on mine. I have tried everything to stop it. I have ended up putting a Motographics carbon looking pad on it now. If I am honest I would say its not really my thing either and I am kind of living with it for now to see if it grows on me or not. The only alternative is to change my leathers and that seems to much expense to solve a niggle.
Thought about using Defendall? Its a clear plastic that covers the tank. Keeps the original look without the messy tank pads. I got the guys at Ratho, nr Edinburgh to do mine. Brilliant job and you have to look really close to even see it. I got my 749 done for £70 plus VAT
Yep, with davieravie on this one - Defendall do clear ones for there and the sides of the tank and you can hardly see them. You can get them sent to you so you can fit them yourself if you're nowhere near them - cheaper but maybe a little tricky!
I wouldn't even think about doing it yourself but if you want to try then im sure it can be done. Its pretty tricky though getting it exact. I know, i watched them. I think they charged me £25 for fitting which is great given the nature of the fitting
