Fork Rebuild - Who\'s best??

I've obtained a spare set of forks, and was thinking of getting them rebuilt with new springs, valves etc before fitting them, so the question is who's best to do the work?

I'm considering Maxton at the moment as I've not heard a bad thing about them yet. But is there anyone else I should consider???

Fast Bikes mag mention a guy in my town (Alan Hesselden, in Gosport ) but don't give a number.

Suggestions / experiences? I don't mind sending them away for a week or so.

K-Tech get my vote.
A 1 service and they felt great when I got them back.
Was not expensive either.
Try Mike at Robsom Racing on here or Nelly at Cornerspeed, think they both deal with them?

Cant say about Maxton but had a bad experience at KAIS but thats in the past now.

I've used Maxton, Kais, and SP Racing over the last 10 years or so and been very happy with all of them.

(you may ask if i've been happy with one why try them all, answer sometimes the turnaround time has been a lot quicker, whilst some else has been very busy)

between myself and my mate Adrians TT efforts we have used Ron Williams (Maxton), Harris (Ohlins) and Dave Parkinson (SP racing) and have been very satified with their work.

Again various reasons for using different companies, mainly depends what we are starting with on the bike and the intended use.

I've got his number somewhere, I'll l;ook out and forward to you. Alternatively, call Wilf at MotoRapido and he can give it you.

After ringing around K-Tech are about 50% of Maxtons price and can do the job in under a week so, it looks like they'll get he business.

I've another set of forks arriving in a week or so if anyone wants a set to rebuild on the cheap....

Spoke to Alan Hesselden today, and have opted for him for 2 reasons

1. He's 5 mins from my house and cheap as chips

2. He'll do his best to get them done in time for TA3!!

OK, 3 reasons

Now just got to fit the Ohlins shock..
