Starter replacing.

How difficult is replacing the starter on an ST2?
I have a horrible feeling that it involves splitting the casings.
I'm gonna try and do it myself so does anyone know what other parts I would need ?

Mood: Found a CR250. Let the bone braking begin
not cases but crank case covers.
the left hand side of the bike to be precise.
you will need a puller also to get it of the alternator magnet.
not that bad a job.
get a manual it will show you how

If its just the starter motor you want to replace, the job is super easy :
remove the lh case and there are 2 allen bolts - 1 easy to get to and the other you have to turn the starter sprag clutch to get access to via a hole.
(the 3rd allen bolt on the starter motor is accessible from outside the case anyway)
If you need to replace the sprag clutch then you will need to pull the alternator - and beware when you replace it - you need to torque the nut properly or it may come loose !
