Question 1198 cooling fan constantly runs even when cold?

anyone had any issue with the cooling fan constantly running when the battery is re-connected? The bike is stone cold (not used for 24 hours) but as soon as the battery is connected it starts straight away...and the battery is drained after a short while because of this.

weird? No fault codes either on the dash.

Be worth checking the Fan relay, it may have packed up

Sorted it by connecting everything up with fan fuse removed, fired it up and let it get to 108C then put fan fuse back in (wouldn't go past 62-64C with fuse in)
Bike cooled down and fan switched off when it got back below 100C. Think it needed to complete a cooling cycle to reset the fan relay as it had gone over 100C previously when I holed the rad.

More likely the relay has dried out as they are prone to moisture and Verdi Gris.

They cost £1.99 off eBay. It is the first of the two relays on the side of the battery box. Buy 2 relays and replace both, better still buy 3 and put a spare in the tool box.
