swingarm hub and chain

Hello

I need some help, as I am not sure why this would happen.

Took the bike for a spin up the road, and the chain slowly became
very loose, so I undid the two main swingarm bolts and adjusted
the hub to tighten the chain. All ok then the same thing happened again.

I have checked the locking nut on the side of the swinging arm
(although I never removed it)

Something is not right, with the hub any ideas?

regards

It sounds like your eccentric hub is in the top 1-2 o'clock position instead of the correct lower 4-5 o'clock position. Both positions give the same chain freeplay but the torque-induced tension at the upper position tends to loosen the chain if the hub eccentric rotates.

Steve, as Shazaam says; if it is in the wrong position I seem to recall that the caliper mounting bolts are more diificult to access.
