Some reckon the early 749r are better value than a 999r, more goodies as standard just lacking the oomph of the 999 motor. If you're coming from a 748r the routine service costs engine wise are similar, you wont miss what you haven't had in relation to the 999 motor either.
As for depreciation, sure you get a big hit early on but if you are looking at a 2004 model then it should have eased off a bit. Have a look on
www.autotrader.co.uk to see what sellers think they are worth now. I'd guess you are looking at about £9000 as we head into Winter!!! For very similar £££ you can get a 999r maybe just a little older but then you might not get the nice swing arm. Swings and roundabouts,
