Fuel Pump

Does anyone know if the 851 Weber fuel pump is the same fit for the 888. I have a spare which I'm deciding whether to keep for a spare. It was from an 851 and from memory it looked a little different from my 888, but it may be just the mounting. If not, I'll just take mine out of the tank again and change filter same time. Remember to keep the fuel filter renewed as it loads up the pump motor current draw ends up running rough and knackering your regulator.

I happen to have my 888 tank completely stripped at the moment. Either take pics and mail them to me off board or post the pump down and I 'll compare and post it back.

Rgds,

Rob

I can't pick up U2Us for some reason, so apologies if you have sent one.

My 851 is a '92 model with the 888 style tank and everything is identical, so I can't help with the earlier model.

If Rob can't sort you out, try asking your dealer. Mine will normally tell me if parts are identical across models or superseded etc etc.

Cheers,
Paul

Sorted, Rob has sent the size details of the 888 pump and they are different to the 851, probably due to the different mounting. Rob said his pump is made by Walbro, with a total pump length of 70mm + 25mm reduced diameter of 36mm for mounting in the rubber boot. The 851 body is 100mm long by 50mm diameter. So looks like I'll be selling a pump to someone who needs the spares for an 851. Cheers guys.
