surface discharge plugs

Anyone using or used RG59V or equivalent surface discharge plug, good or bad ?

mine lasted less than 500mls

I wouldn't recommend them for road bikes, after all they are a race plug

I have some in my ST4s as I'd bought them already to try in another bike.

Cant justify the money for no improvement, on the road anyways but I do like the idea of not having the worry about gapping the plugs

I saw some stupid rip off prices on Ebay, I got mine here:

It's a clearance issue a std type plug will foul on piston

Thats one of the issues with race engines, Hi-Com pistons, Skimmed heads, minimum Squish not only can give rise to clearance issues with the plug but also detonation/pre ignition due to plug electrode temperature. Hence the use of Surface discharge plugs.
My 955 uses the Q-A55V surface discharge plugs and the 748RS used a lot of the NGK R2430-10 plugs current price £53 each

would you know by any chance what the difference is between a Q-A55V and RG59v ?
