just dissapointed about monza wsb and le mans moto gp trip cancel.

Fly down Chris, or get a mate to take a car rather than the bike. My 996 spat me off at Brands in May 2000, broke both wrist's, had to go to WDW 10 days later in a car-but I still went.

John

You could fly down for the Monza WSB & hire an automatic car (as it's your left leg). It's a short drive from Milan (but set off very early as the traffic's a nightmare). I love Monza, it'd be worth the effort & might cheer you up.

Estoril's this weekend mate. They changed the dates so they could fit a round in at Istanbul (I think ).

I went to valencia last year. Excellent organisation, atmosphere, etc. Highly recommend it. Enjoy

Weather was dry & sunny, but not that warm, low-mid twenties from memory.

Loads of good reasons to go:

- Good viewing + seating is quite close to the track.
- Amazing atmosphere.
- Well organised traffic management.
- You can drive to Andorra & buy bike kit/ accessories much cheaper than uk prices.
- Excellent facilities, ie. food, toilets, etc.

You'll need to get your tickets quite early as it sells out completely.

Good to see your body might be dented but your enthusiasm isn't. Keep smiling. You know you want to.

Best Wishes

Chris,

I had exactly the same injury on the same leg at the start of 2003 .... 3 week before I picked up my new 749s

I did try to ride the bike but with my toes sticking out in the cold and trying to hook the heel of my plaster cast under the gear lever to go up gears was impossible.

I had about 14 weeks in plaster and physio 3 times a week for a further 12 weeks, still difficult to ride during physio. 1 of the problems was getting on the bike, at one point all your weight is on your left leg as you pivot around to get on your bike.

The good news I can offer is that if you stick to the physio and do all the exercise you can get back to 99% as before. 2 years down the line the only problem I sometimes have is a little cramp in my calf muscle on a long ride, especially if you tend to ride on the balls of your feet.

All the best and hope it works out for you.
