600ss/750ss differences?

Apart from the engine, are there any differences between the 750ss and 600ss?
Im just wondering whether i would be able to put a 600 motor in a 750ss and run it in the desmodue series?

Can't see why not. but someone more knowledgeable than me will be along shortly to confirm or not. Might be cheaper just to buy a DD bike already fully prepped. Butch890 has one available.

Yep Paul Payne did it in 2005 after first checking with the RC.
Frame, swingarm, wheels and forks are all the same.
You will probably need the ingitor units off the 600 as well to get it to run properly. Also the 750 pulls taller gearing so you would need final drive gearing to suit the 600

Yes, it fits straight in, but you will need to use the 600 inlet manifolds as they are different to the 750 ones, even though the carbs are the same.
Gearing will depend on the year of the engine as the primary gear ratio changed, but is not a problem. The 600 and 750 CDI units are interchangeable so that's no problem either.
As Kev says, it might be worth getting the race committee (?) to ok the 750 frame to prevent any issues later on, but I can't see there being a problem.

Good luck and give me a shout if you need any info.

Cheers, Paul
