Another 1098 problem!

Well before I've managed to take it in to the dealership on my way home from work today I noticed a cloud of white smoke seemed to be following me home!! Smells like coolant if that makes sense!

It won't move now until the dealership collects it from me to sort it.... Fortunately 2 weeks of warrant left. Unless they try and get out of it somehow.

Is it the piston rings going / gone or have I got more to worry about?

Thanks again in advance!

Could it have been steam ? check your rad, well known rad problem with them but will be replaced under warranty you shouldk notice coolent on your fairings where it has blown through or just run it up to working temp with fairing off and you might see it from the corner of the rad.

Cheers Paul. Can't say for certain it isn't steam but the oil spyglass is clouded and has white marks on it aswell, there doesn't appear to be any leaks but I've told the dealership and they will collect it as soon as their staff are back from Spain enjoying themselves! Lol

Thankfully I have 2 weeks left on my warranty.

When the rad on my 1098 went it was out of warrenty period but as it is a known problem it was replaced without a problem, in most cases if its a known problem and its out of warrenty they will sort if FOC.

Hope you get to the bottom of it.
