I'm not trying to pee on the fireworks mate but it seems like a lot of money to spend for not much improvement. I would've thought that some P34 'pad-per-piston' calipers and some decent pads would be more than enough stoping power.
I rode loads of bikes at the Cadwell trackday with all sorts of brake configurations (some of them very bling indeed). None of them close to my humble ST2 that has P34's on it. Whether it's the combination of the calipers, the pads, the disks or just the way they've been bled they're nigh on perfect for me - loads of power if you even think about moving the lever, but loads of confidence inspiring feel as well.
They're loads better (so far) than the billet GP2's I've got on my 888, but then again I did buy the billets because of the almighty bling factor as well as the promise of better stoppers - so if bling is the thing for you just go for it, we all loikes us bits o' bling!
hear what you're saying Jools, and I agree that the overall stopping power improvemnet is going to be negligable. However, I just love the look of radial brakes and I wanna see how much I'm looking at to get a set on my bike. It is difficult to justify the expence tho......
I assume you are talking about the different bottoms that JHP would put on the bottom of you fork legs ? I looked at that then got a quote on the price. End of that idea. I think the best option is to sell your current Ohlins and buy some with Radial fitment already there. Much cheaper turn around
There was a guy on ebay selling brand new radial bottoms for less than £400. No idea on quality and he was based in Italy. I'm guessing he makes them, none there at the moment though.
