Angry Stand broke on 748

The bracket that holds the stand to the engine bloody snapped in half - result broken top fairing, broken bottom fairing, scratched mirror casing. Any one know where I can get these bits? Especially need the stand bracket and bolt quickly. Also where can I get fairings from

Give Nelly a call at Cornerspeed.co.uk as he will tell you if they are still available new.
Otherwise it'll be a trawl through ebay!

Steve,

I think I may have a spare one in the garage from a 996/998 which I think is the same. Drop me a PM with your mobile number and I will give you a call.

Chris

...and, strangely enough, i have the same problem. Originally my sidestand bracket broke, causing one of the bolts to break in the engine casing. I replaced the sidestand bracket, but it weas worn - this meant the stand leant forward too much, so the bike's leaning over further than the tower of Pisa and it's only a matter of time before that brackret/bolt/everything else breaks.
Would anyone have a 996 sidestand bracket that's either new or s/h unworn? cheers in advance, jamess

Thanks to this thread I looked at the 998 side stand and noticed how much more the bike leaned than my Panigale sat next to it. A bit more inspection showed that wear is the problem. So hopefully caught in time as the idea of the bike smashing down on its carbon fairings wont do at all!

So thanks for the alert!

Both my 998s and my 996 are now fitted with stands from either a 749 or 999. For these to fit you need the left lower fairing with the bigger opening for the stand as found on most of the 748/996/998 models that came with a side stand switch.

Cheers for answers - i'll be popping over t oonyerbike in the next couple of days since my brother lives nearby, but if they're extortionate i'll try pro twins! Bike's impossible to put on stand now, so it's a wall-leaner if i'm stopping anywhere!
