Apparently............ the seals on the Ohlins require regular movement to keep the seal oiled so it doesn't dry out. I'm told the Ohlins are so "friction-less" the oil is an essential element required to maintain a seal between stanchion and leg. If left without "pumping" the front end (to keep the leg / seal wet) at regular intervals, leaking can result. Sometimes, when re-used, the fork seal will sort itself out and re-seal. The visble oil line may just be a dirt line but a close monitoring over a few miles should answer the question. If you are in any doubt at all and worried about it, don't ride it and contact your local dealer to get some advice. Mart |
