New to all this

Hi, I have never raced before, although i have done quite a few track days over years, anyway I have fianlly decided to do it, and the DD looks kind of fun!
Anyway I would appreciate your thoughts on one thing; I am around 285lbs (13 + stone) and I was wondering if this might be a stretch for a B class bike?
I have not yet got licence or anything, but I would like to get a bike and do a few track days on one and see how I get on, so your thoughts on an A class or B class?

stretch? Stretch?

Your bike will be perfectly happy that you are that light and nimble.

If you have a bit of a spread around the middle and sho arms you may suit a monster better than a SS. B class if you are a novice.

As Mark said just do it.
Get yourself a decent A or B bike (there's always one or two for sale) and don't look back.

Best decision you will make.

Thanks for thoughts so far, I will come to Snetterton and hopefuly be able to chat to some of you. I am looking at bikes for both A and B at the moment and I guess price, availablilty, condition (race ready or current road bike) will be quite a determining factor.
Anyway please keep your thoughts and suggestions coming

Buying race ready may be cheaper and easier. They may also come with some handy spares and bits and pieces.
Pop along and introduce yourself to all at Snetterton.

Come and speak to me at snetterton, number 82 black and yellow monster.

Did my 1st race at Brands, after a handful of track days... had great fun. Happy to chat about my last few months, or have a read of my rants (sorry, I mean blog) http://stevogoesracing.blogspot.co.uk/

Plenty of help and advice is available from more experienced heads too from my personal experiences so far

285 puts you in my bracket. although at 112kgs plus kit I won a race or two in B last year, Tbh A class means you don't have to try so hard

Either way, mistreat fun and whether front back or the middle you'll have a race with someone

Check out the race from brands which was televised via motors tv, think someone may have linked it to YouTube if you do a search

Feel free to pop along for a chat: pretty friendly place

As a tubby just about to have first race at Snet on a class B bike I would steer you towards class A.
