last thursday had trouble starting bike before ferry (battery)
got started and got on ferry (plymouth - roscof)
rode down to valencia for moto gp (2 days) 1000miles
all sorts of weather bike was great !!
great racing & roads & weather
started journey back day before ferry (santander -plymouth)
got 60 miles short of santander (rain / mountains / bandit country) bike would not start (all sorts of weired things happening but starter not turning - dead battery)
could not bump it-
called number on doc paper (warranty)eventually got put through to AA they did not recognise doc recovery (they even gave me RAC number)
ended up phoning normal AA number (car use ) bingo...
they recognised "the cover for bike"
TOP TIP they need regs no, your name and FRAME NUMBER
being in spain they put me through to europe office (lyon)
they were great and spoke good english.
recovery vehicle came and loaded up
ducati spain contacted me
PLAN - they were made aware of the ferry i needed to be on next day 1530..
they took bike back to there depot and got a taxi to take me to hotel (twin room - friend with me)
all taxis and hotel bills were taken care of by ducati spain !!!
they collected me next morning took me to recovery vehicle and then we proceeded to ducati dealership in santander
they were expecting me.
there ducati expert came in of hols to sort bike..
they said a combination of a fault on pc3 meta alarm had knackered battery.
they fitted new battery and everything was fine
got presented with a bill = £90
had to pay because this was a non ducati product that caused fault (alarm) GOING TO PURSUE THIS !!
on ferry bike got "rubbing damage" by tie down straps on seat fairing as advised saw the "purser" on way of who took digi photos of damaged area and gave me a copy of claim form.
need to get quote for repairs - send to them and they will "see me right"
let you know all outcomes..
hope this helps anyone ??!!
