I really have no idea whatsoever why they don't make this bike.... They have all to parts (excluding bodywork) and could produce it for everyone who doesn't want 200bhp, traction control, telemetry and the associated mortgage.

I suppose the main problem is still margin, why sell a bike at £6k when you can sell one at £15k and make three times the margin. In the meantime we have Pierobon, Bimota and Monty to show us how it should be done!

Why are Ducati suddenly building bikes that look like Honda's? First the 1098 looking like a Fartblood and now this looking like a CBR600RR!! OK, they sell more numbers because they're bland like x-factor contestants and therefore appeal to a wider audience but what happened to innovation in design? FWIW i'm aware that they have to sell volume to compete

They're not. This is just a hypothetical design mock-up by a bloke called Oberdan Bezzi, not even an official Ducati design exercise, never mind actually being built.

I agree with Ali though, Ducati have got all these components in the parts bin so it's only a case of Pick 'n Mix. They could build one with almost no development time whatsoever if they wanted.

I'd buy one, especially if it was half-faired

>>Those bikes are satisfying and fun to ride, and in the hands of the right rider can keep up a blistering pace on any kind of road.

Hoyus. I love the air-cooled late SS bikes. Fabulous things when lightly tweaked. I prefer them to 4-vlv bikes by far, but this just looks like a junior 1098.
