Unleaded & Diesel prices the same !!!

First time in our area of the NE that I can remember them being the same for a very, very long time....

100.9p per Litre for both

I guess the gov just dont need the revenue that much anymore

Cheers - Frank

Half of it must be down to the greedy oil company's, i remember when is started driving vans for work 15 years ago diesel was half the price of petrol, more people use it these days so do the oil company's charge more for it???

Diesel contains more energy per gallon than petrol. Thus, should really cost more! Quite why it has come down in price is a mystery to me though.

But it cost's a lot less than petrol to produce so on that basis should be cheaper. The goverment (that means you Gordon Brown) decided to put the duty up higher on diesel when more people started to drive diesel cars-nothing to do with wanting to raise revenue-oh no, it was all to do with the environment. Just like approving a 3rd runway at Heathrow will help the environment-NOT..................

In France Diesel has always been much cheaper than petrol (though now catching up) hence why about 70% of vehicles are diesel there.

100.9p though makes me want to live up North Frank. It's anywhere between 103.9 and 105.9 down here!

Best round here (Tesco) today was 102.5 for diesel or unleaded. Crude prices did start to shoot back up after March but taken a bit of a dive back down to just below $60 this week.

It will all depend on the £/$ and crude prices, who knows where either are going soon!
