Ducati 999 - misfire /horizontal cylinder

Hi thanks to everyone out there that has given suggestions to try to sort out the misfire fault.

I have had all the coils replaced with 749R, i have also transposed them and still a misfire on cylinder 1.

I have emptied the petrol tank in case of water.

The problem appears to be related to Air Temp , it only occurs during the cold weather when the ambient air temp is low.

I've pre-heated air box with hot air gun and Bike starts ok, carrying on blowing in hot air during warm up and Bike will reach operating temp with no hint of misfire.

Start Bike normally and starts to hunt after 30 - 60 seconds, blow hot air into air box and hunting clears and runs normally.

My name is Colin, we have only just gone on the internet, and i have not set up an e.mail address for myself yet, so i'm using my wifes ( sue ), and learning 1 finger typing.

Thanks again for all the info.

Colin - very puzzled

Mood: is it cos i is a bricklayer
if it was my car(audi) id say it was either airflow meter/mucky air filter or air leak thru induction system or may be too much/not enough fuel reaching the head -blocked injector? sorry but dont know much about the ducati system but may lead to solving yur problem-
