Ricambi Weiss Single Seat Conversion

Has anyone fitted one of these to a 900SS ie? How does it all work with the grab rail?

Also apart from the two side fixing allen keys as per the original side panels, how is it held in place?

Thanks - Simon

single seat

The grabrail is bolted on to the rear subframe so you would unbolt the grabrail and take it off completely.

It's not a seat cover the one you are looking at. (i think)

I figured the grab rail needed to be removed, but it looks like the tail light is fixed to the grab rail, so once you have removed the grab rail what do you fix the tail light to? Also the securing seat clip is part of the grab rail mechanism.

Also not sure where or how exactly you are supposed to fix the seat cover apart from the two front fixings?

I think I have made a boo boo here. Looks like Ricambi Weiss just sells replacement panels, not any of the related brackets etc., so the seat cover I have bought is a replacement panel for the Genuine Ducati accessory one which does come with all the necessary brackets and at an eye watering price of £365!

I have the DP solo tail section on my 1999 944SSie. To fit, you need to remove the original side panels, grab rail with attached tail light and the seat lock. The DP kit came with a replacement for the grab rail which was just that with the handle part sawn off and unpainted. The OEM seat lock is swapped to this part and the tail light is reattached before the whole assembly is reinstalled on the frame. The seat cover itself "grabs" the seat and is only held on by friction and the two original front allen bolts. The overall fit of the DP unit is mediocre and the area around the tail light is poor. Would I buy it again - no.

Sold the Ricambi Weiss cover on e-bay at a small loss and bought one of these instead...

It fits well and looks a lot better in real life than the picture on the website. I'm happy anyway

I haven't taken any pictures of my bike yet. I'll try to do so over the weekend weather permitting!
