wanted pinch bolt

Hello

Managed to get tyres swapped over, disc on, wheels on
everything looking good then as I was tightening up the last pinch bolt at the bottom of the forks/wheel axel.
Snap spent 30mins getting the bugger out.

anybody have one spare? please . . as the weather is looking good for the weekend.

not sure if its a standard bolt, maybe can try Jap bike shops near by in the morning.

should of gone stainless steel I know.

thanks in advance.

Steve, I don't have one you can keep but if you're stuck and you want to get out over the weekend I'll take one out of my bike for you. It's not on the road so it's fine.

One point dude....htf did you manage to snap such a bolt? They only need nipping up a little bit. I don't have the specified torque values but, I would reckon it to be around 20-30Nm and nowhere near enough to snap a steel bolt.

BTW stainless alloys usually have a lower tensile strength and are often not recommended for use in stressed applications.

Hello twpd

yep its 19Nm I know and agree its only a pinch bolt, I was getting carried away, and well no excuse really. It was the last thing and then all done.

Ah...fairynuff. Then any m8 x whatever length it is bolt will do. Any decent hardware store will have them. Good luck!
