851 Carbon Tank Fuel Pump

There I was having a pleasant sunday afternoon, taking out my 851 fuel pump so I could fit it to the Raymond Roche carbon fibre fuel tank. And low and behold, as with so many of these things. It does not fit. The old 851 one is too fat!
Does anyone know what fuel pump they use?

you need an assembly from an 888 but I am pretty convinced, having them side by side, that a 996 pump will do it too.

Hmm, depends.

I've just collected a few useful bits as nice bits for the the old girls are getting a bit scarce now. Especially since Ducati seemed to have dumped most of their 888 spares to the E-Bay vendors in the last 24 month.

Thanks Rob, now to get one. Did the ducati Australia thing. Zero balance. Might try for a new one on the continent.
Don't give up your stash. i have a couple of boxes of things for my bevel. They always come in handy. Come to think of it I have a couple of boxes of 851 stuff now as well.

As an aside, all you need is a pump which puts out 3psi - which is just about any FI pump for a motorcycle. We use a Triumph fuel pump on the DD bike as it's the exact same dimensions as the Ducati 620ie (probably made in the same factory!) which is the same as my spare 748 pump, which is the same as ... etc ... !

Thanks, I've done a bit of looking into it and yes one pump fits heaps. I'll have one sorted with in the week I'd say.

Hi, surely you meant 3 bar for the pump? pressure reg' is set to that as standard on strada's and 4.5 bar on sps's.
I think the pump is capable of pumping 5 bar,as fitted to these dukes.
