chip set up time

Hello all,

This is my first post and I`m looking for some advice please.
Just put 45mm termi slip on cans+Dp chip on my 2002 748s.After reading previous q/a here, perhaps like most others it needs setting up as the fuelling is now awful.
Local duke dealer said 4 hours to set it up.Does this sound about right?
Also as the chip is third hand, should I get a JHP one before the set up just to be sure it`s not the chip?(i know the ultimap is better but i don`t fancy the dyno work, read expense).
Any help would be appreciated.

Give Nelly a ring at Cornerspeed. He'll sort the fueling a treat. He's a regular poster on here.

4 hours seems a bit much, unless they put it on a dyno and burn you custom chip, which I doubt is what you need.

if your on about the dealer that i think you are, i think you'd be better popping up to nelly (bit of a trip nottingham) or try baines at silverstone.theres also mike davis on the site he's over at stratford.
and of course theres jhp at cov.
if a job's worth doing and all that

by the way welcome aboard. when your running right nip over to grafham water for a breakie and ride out 3rd sunday of each month (and quite a few in between)

Ian,

I would speak to John Hackett at JHP about ECU chips and engine mapping , i was with him in his engine shop yesterday and he showed me what he has done to the 749R race bike which was at silverstone last Sunday.

Mind blowing !

This sort of clever tunning can be done at JHP along with gasflowing etc.

4 hours sounds a bit too long
It can vary a little, some bikes dial in quicker than others.
I charge £40. That's it. It takes as long as it takes but at least you know what it's going to cost you.
That's for setting the TPS, balancing the throttles and then setting/balancing the mixture between cylinders.

and I would really reccomend one of JHP's eproms over the DP item. Loads better.
