flashing red light

Hi all
another question...

The flashing red light on the dash of my 749 flashes when the key is taken out of the bike, but should it go off after about a day of being left alone.
The bike is kept on its rear paddock stand. Today when I opened the garage door the light was not on/flashing, is this normal or does this mean something is wrong??? When I put the key in it started as normal.

Thanks both, that's reassuring to know. 749's are new to me.
Just had a major service/belts, also fork seal, MOT and new chain and sprockets. All carried out by a fantastic bloke called Tim Hyett at Motovation in Cheltenham, was all done at a very reasonable cost, collected and delivered the bike back to me as well. Really pleased with his work, his mobile is 07899685623.
