I am still awaiting result of my claim with EK mine had done about 2500 miles in 6 months and the soft link failed.

Feel for you mate I know the feeling I was gutted.

it all depends how far the dealer will stick his neck out for you....

my bike was nearly only ridden on the track and it was still covered under garantee, its only out of cover if you ride in licenced eventīs ....and that is from my dealers mouth....

Still dont think its covered whatever its been used for as its classed as a consumable part? have a look in the front of the warranty book it lists all these items as exempt

my chain snapped through the link pin not the side plate

funny thing was that my dealer wasnt too happy at first and then his hire bike threw a chain and his damage was worse than mine
its a known problem , and they will change and repair it
its up to your dealer to fight your corner after all

consumerable part still has an expected 'life' span, push them hard, the onus of proof is on the manufacturer/dealer not you. May be worth a solicitor as the likely cost of damage sounds like Ģ000's...
