Sadly, the scrutineers might just notice the TURBO

Interestingly enough, I was just searching the other day for a company called "Luftmeister" that used to make BMW products (amongst them believe it or not - Turbos and bolt on fuel injection kits) - seems the company went bust but one of their major suppliers has taken up the cause instead:

http://www.rbracing-rsr.com

Their Turbo page from the product list is erm QUITE INTERESTING

So how cheap will somebody sell me there 583 Barrells and Pistons for as I need to get my engine sorted and may still find the 675 kit is outside my budget.

Just a thought Kev,

IS it possible to go for an over bore and new pistons with your existing barrels - dunno if duke barrels can be overbored but it would get you a few extra cc's.

Also if I remember the rules - max compression = 12bar - any idea anyone what compression ratio this works out at ?????????????

Kev, I'm sure we can work something out cheap when I get mine.

Just depends on how long you're happy to wait because I'm probebly not going to get a bike for a few weeks yet.

Just checking a few details about the overbore kit ...
600 is 583cc = 80 bore and 57.8 stroke
620 is 618cc = 80 bore and 61.5 stroke
675 overbore on 620 = 83.5 bore (?) and 61.5 stroke
therefore overbore on 600 gives 83.5 bore and 57.8 stroke = 634cc
ie a full 675 upgrade to a 600 will require a new crank ?!

The overbore 680 kit is a matching barrel and piston at 86 bore, Ducati pn 96401897C.

Cost is roughly 700-odd quid for parts at dealer prices (and then add labour on top to get it fitted...), but as Chris says this may well be discounted through the DesmoDue series.

Sorry, forgot to add that's for the 583cc version - can't find anything for the 620 as yet.

With the 620 you would also have to consider any differences in Valve size and lift along with any differences in combustion chamber shape if you were trying to fit parts from a bigbore kit designed for the earlier 583cc model.

Frank the bores on a 600SS are plated and having them replated isn't that cheap.
But as I have just sourced another 583 engine for £250 I should hopefully be sorted now, as well as having a few spares in the way of casings, rockers, valves etc.

The only big bore kit for the 620 that i can find is a 654 kit that is available in Italy.
John is having a run of 83 mm pistons made along with machined and plated barrels ,84mm pistons are available but that gives 680 cc (the 680 kit for the 583 is actually 673cc ).
