A non participants veiw

A lot of things have been said about the DDseries,and for what it`s worth I`m going to have mine.I`m not competing in it for one reason or another,but I can`t wait for it to startSo I`ve put a few of my thoughts down for discussion;

1.Personally think it`s good for the clubs profile.

2.Looking at whos entered,I can`t see it doing any harm to the club as in a two tier type way.Apart from some not being on a rideout the following Sunday because they`re working on their "race bike".

3.Remember what club started this series, the DSC and it`ll be fine.

4.It is a hot topic at the moment, but this time of the year(3inches of snow looking out the window) good rideouts are few and far between(BHC excluded you hard as nails lot)

5.A full list of entrants and what they`re riding posted on the site would be nice,if only to see who to cheer for

6.An up to date fixture list posted if this is avaliable?

7.Fingers crossed on this one,but I would hope for a good turn out from members watching this series too,can you imagine all them Ducati shirts walking around the pits

8.Like someone said on the "test for Hodgson" thread,"DesmoDue series is where the action is!"

Bring on the gladiators!

I can't wait for it to start either!

1. I certainly will be good for the clubs profile, the series should be a figurehead for the dsc in the club racing scene.

2. Agree, but probably the more viable excuse for not attending ridouts might be that plaster casts aren't flexible enough to get a foot on the peg!

3. I hope it will remain a DSC series and not end up as just another club race that a few members happen to be taking part in.

4. I had a good ride this morning... bone dry roads, bright sunshine, just a little chilly

5. There was an initial list of entrants and their bikes in the latest Pronto. Only the first 25 entrants tho, I think it's up to 33 now but hopefully that will be updated in the next issue. But cheer for #34 and you'll be on a winner!

6. Fixtures are on a thread posted by monty a while back, but it goes something like this:

round 1 - Cadwell Woodland Circuit
sat 30 april - practice
sun 01 may - race 1 and 2

round 2 - Castle Combe
sat 04 june - race 3 and 4

round 3 - Snetterton
25/26 June - Race 5 Time trial

round 4 - Donington Park
sat 13 August - race 6 and 7

round 5 - Brands Hatch Indy
sun 11 September - race 8 and 9

round 6 - Cadwell Park Full Circuit
sun 9 October - race 10 and 11

7. I hope for a good turnout. I'm sure the regional organisers will be sorting out rides to meetings near and far!

8. You're not kidding!!!

Should manage to get to at least three of those, the other thing I didn`t ask but should have was, when the racing starts will the Desmodues be the only bikes on track,or will they be a series within a series,ie pivateers cup within superbike championship type thing if you know what I mean?

probably safer that way paul... I'll have some mugs, but you'd have to sign a disclaimer before drinking from one!

Cakes, biscuits and other goodies will be plentiful!
