A funny thing happened to me today!
I had just popped to the supermarket to get some supplies, and on my way back to the car, trying to dodge the rain, I saw a bike coming into the car park. I crossed the road as he turned off to find a space, then from behind me I hear *waaaah* on the throttle and that crunching sound of plastic.
I ran over to help the poor guy lift his bike up. He'd managed to lay down his GSXF at less than 5mph and then spin it 180 while on the tarmac. He lost his footpeg and had quite a few scrapes on the fairing and engine casing, but was otherwise ok. He was really embarrassed and just wanted to get out of there!
So what is the cautionary tale about this? Every time I go to this particular car park, there are a few lads that work out of the back of a van that clean cars while you shop. They seem to be in just about every supermarket car park these days! They wash down the car but they leave all their soapy-foam running across the car park. Each time I walk up there I always think it's really slippery, even in the dry. It seems that it is really slippery after a bit of rain too, as this poor guy found out to his cost.
So if you visit your local supermarket car park in the rain, be extra, extra, *extra* careful!
