All the 999 range are testastretta engines..........its just that they are 998cc!

The R is the only true 999cc with a different bore stroke combination.

The range of horsepower is obviously relative to the price!

If you want to compare the 2004 models :

"S" and "Standard"

"S" and "R"

The bore and stroke / compression differs considerably with the 'R' and other models.... and still does on the "06".

Is that at a dealer?7k seems a bit pricey.The differances are a more powerfull deep sump motor and Ohlins suspension/steering damper.On the road tho the differance is negligable.
What model year 'S' are you thinking?The big changes came in '05 btw.(More power,'R' style bodywork and deep swingarm etc)
