but if DD want to improve on the image in the club as whole it would be good to promote the positives of the racing so a bit of a report would be good.

For example why were there only half the field in the first race??

The 2 DD races on saturday and non-championship races. The 2 on Sunday were championship ones. Some used the Sat races fro practice.

Lily, it was another weekend with absolutely loads of really close battles up and down the field.
Just like snetterton, a lot of us had an absolute blast, and wish we could have seen ourselves racing
I think we need a bunch of club video cameras so we can all see how good it was actually
Loads of us did personal best lap times, there were new faces in the mix too, and absolutely wonderful weather (for cadwell )

Thanks for answering the questions but I don't think people are getting what I am saying....

DD is getting some pretty poor coverage at the moment and despite all the comments of 'if you don't like it don't read it' people will continue to do so.

i was suggesting that with a little bit of effort a positive image can be put onto the forum that has enough information to keep non dd'ers interested without getting into the personal side of things and with no politics.

example

Cadwell report:

Results can be found here...

This weekend saw the final round of the DD series with some close battles between the racers despite the titles already being awarded. Some racers go an extra race in on saturday despite this being a non points round.

With great weather and good track conditions there were few crashes and some lap records were beaten.

Some new faces joined the racing on Sunday in preparation for a full season next year. Kelly Ford made her first outing on the championship winning 583 and seemed to get to grips with the competion pretty quickly.

saturday night saw a hog roast to celebrate the season with many racers and non racers alike joinging in the fun and banter.

Many prospective racers for 2007 made the trip including DCR who was seen grinning madly whilst picking up his new slowery steed from Grib who has moved up to the 620 class.

do people get what i am saying here??

I did have someone recording each of the DD races for Saturday and Sunday. Not the whole races mind, and the focus will probably be ME! (Also recorded Saturday's F400 races). So, hold on tight and when I get a chance to download the footage from the camera and put a little edit together I'll post it online.

And Lily, I think a lot of us do write individual reports and post them in various places (mine's here - http://kapitalmoto.co.uk/node/167) but I agree that an overall DD race report is a good idea.

Yep, I have read some of the individual reports, but no offence, if you don't know someone they can get a bit tedious, especially if you are not into racing as many non dd dsc'ers are.

Coming in on a Monday and seeing 10 different personal reports is good and they are worth posting so people can see them if they want to, but to cover a wider audience and promote the events a general report would be easier. It could also be used for promotion on other sites (DUK?) if wanted.

I am guessing the average non racer si not too interested whether a person they have never met before had sausage or bacon rolls for breakfast and had a good might sleep etc but they might be interested in the overall picture.

Hmmmm - the reports are out there somewhere, but its all become a bit cynical on here, it seems that the DD has divided the DSC. DD'ers mainly want to talk about DD and non-DD'ers mainly don't. And both entities don't want to read about the other side, but do it anyway!!!

Its a shame, but its a long Winter when we can get back to good old fashioned arguing about the 998 shape being better than the 999

Its created a Monster!!!

Not certain it has divided the club Tim, more people are just bored of it.

The racers bicker amongst themselves and the non dd'ers look on in fascination not really understanding why or what it's all about. Sometimes it gets to the point where it really does paint a negative picture, when in fact I think that most folks agree that in principle DD is actually pretty good.

I think non racers would be more interested in DD if it wasn't so bitchy all the time and we just got to hear about the racing and the fun side of it.

By having a general report it would mean that people would not get fed up with it. Personally I find that I am reading threads that go into the detail when I was just trying to see how the weekend went.

And I know the personal reports are out there, but sometimes they really do get a bit dull with so much detail that your average non dd'er is gonna switch off.

Well said Lily. Think it pretty much sums up what a lot of the non-DDers do think. Certainly I do.

I get what you're saying Lily. Right now somewhere in the inner recturn there is a discussion going on about something like this since first thing today. Early days at the moment, but interesting.

Expand on what you are thinkng, and don't let past events with ideas put you off. I make a point of not listening!
