A good price or have i bought a lemon ?

I bid on this 996 SPS and won, does anyone know of this bike, 7 owners and only 5386 miles on the clock.

7... I say 7... owners?

Well at the very least you could break it up and recover most if not all your outlay. At the very best it could all turn out to be great.

Hope it all works out well - Good Luck

looks like a complete and utter bargain to me ..... Number of owners worries me personally very little.

It looks like you got a bargain, even factoring in some cash for a refresh, well done!!

Hope all goes well

Certainly sounds genuine, as said above belts and a good service will give you some peace of mind.
Used bikes is always a risk but there are plenty of people in this club always happy to help out...at a small price..

just enjoy....

Good price but factor in replacing the belts just for the security factor.

Last thing you want is them going when you take it out for it's first spirited ride.

Happy Scratching

looks a good price but cant make out the sps plaque - does it say RS?

wouldnty worry about the owners - most of them have a few and are passed around as toys and play things...

Anyone know how the numbering works - mine is a '98 but 1** numbererd.....did they make 647?

if it falls thru, ther are a couple of sps on here around 5k that look a bargain....

good luck.

Nice work - hope she's as good as she looks.

I'd start by getting the belts done (as recommended above) Cornerspeed are always a great place for this. Then check the service history with the dealers listed in the service book.

Frame repaints and rebuilds can worry a bit - get an HPI check done before you collect and be sure its a straight bike.

If she's not as listed in ebay and you're concerned, walk away.

If it all adds up, then you've got yourself a bargain I reckon.

There is a 1999 996BP for sale on here at £4k, you paid £800 more for a 1 year older SPS .... no brainer for me, good deal.

Worse comes to the worse you would get all your money back, and a bit more, if you broke it.
