Broken body/side panels

There I was flicking the St thru my favourite corners on the A483 when I felt something flapping by my left knee.
I looked down and thought "Golly gosh, oh my..that shouldn't be doing that"
A quick inspection under the seat confirmed the worst , the little lug where the side panel is bolted to the frame with an 8mm (head) bolt had decided it no longer wanted to ride along with the rest of the bike, maybe I had frightened it,but anyway has anyone else had this happen, and does anyone have a fix , or is time to get the chequebook out?
(My bike is only two months out of warranty too )

Pete

Can you be a bit more specific about which bit has actually broken? Is it the mounting on the frame or has the bit of plastic just disappeared?

I had this part split on my ST2 and the knurled brass insert that the bolt goes into came free from the plastic moulding it sits in.
Two minutes with some superglue & it was ok for the next 10,000 miles or so & as far as I know, it's still ok to this day.
