I wouldn't go the route of iconic as it looks too out of place on an SS. I partially solved the problem by adding small round convex mirrors to the upper right and left corners of both mirrors. Although the image is smaller, I don't have to move my arm out of the way to keep my pursuers in sight and the give a broader side view of the next lanes. THen again, you could go retro and put on bar-end mirrors. Oh yeah, the mirrors I used stick on to the original mirror surface and they can then be rotated to get the best view. The rotation option makes them a little more flexible for different riding positions (full tank bag, no tank bag, etc.)
