believe it or not mine appears to be sorted, the dealer has tried harley davidson winter tickover idle boost, it is now like a different bike i.e. keeps ticking over. the addative just boosts the fuel octane, next step is to try super unleaded. the dealer Ducati Bristol have been superb in this quest as I have!!
will update how it goes

Speaking to Wilf at Moto Rapido the other day and this subject came up. Steve and Martin spent a day investigating this problem and they have a reliable fix - takes about an hour I'm told.

have used BP ultimate unleaded, bike ran superb, the tickover was at 1200 with the harley octane enhancer it went to 1350 using the BP ultimate, has not missed a beat so far.
Anybody else using super unleaded?

I may start using it for every other tankful this year - see what that's like.

I use Optimax mostly as the bike seems to run better on it. Didn't realise it might stop it stalling...

Hi Mark

I changed to Optimate to try and solve the stalling problem but this didn't work for me.

I had the bike returned to me a week last Monday they tell me the stalling problem is solved but I still have to tax her and check for myself.

Just waiting for the roads to clean up a bit (salt) then i'll take her to work and see how she is through the traffic.

Regards

DaveO

open up the lobe centers by 8 degrees. idle vacume increases then reset idle co for new cam timings and stalling fixed .

Guys

Lots of things have been said and fixes suggested but I for one remain unimpressed by Ducati and their in ability to resolve this problem.

I had my bike returned a few weekes ago after a prolonged period in the dealers being fixed. I took the opportunity to test ride the bike last Saturday when the weather was good and guess what it stalled again.

Enough is enough I have contacted the Ducati after sales rep that was involved from the start and the dealer and guess what no response.

Should I really have to endure another 4 months (on and off) of going back and forward to the dealer?

Has anybody here had a dispute resolved and how was it achived?

There was someone who had a new ECU from Ducati for something similar on their 749R, can't remember their name though. Might be worth a search and U2U?
