999/749 Mirrors

Hi All, was wondering if anyone has ever seen any after market mirror/indicators for the 749. Its a bit of a ****er to get the bike round the back and could fit it through the house if it werent for the mirrors, and couldnt be bothered taking them on and off everytime I go out...

I think ducati9 does one but never seen it fitted, and by the looks of it would end up with holes everywhere as theres only 1 stalk....

hahha, I have the priorities sorted completely, planning on moving house to a place with a garage (absolute stipulation that the missus cant quite grasp yet). But in the meantime (when its been raining the day before) its a bitch to get out.

Already looked at widening the doors, impossible. Oh well, do Ducati make any motox bikes ?

Can you not get the front end of the bike through the door at an angle first, so one mirror goes through, shortly followed by the next? might need tipping slightly to one side too...

how about just smashing a couple of bricks out either side where the mirrors go. shouldnt be too draughty with summer just around the corner.

also, trying to be sensible. it would take about 1 minute to undo the mirrors and just leave them hanging by the cables to fit the bike through. its only one allen bolt on each side.

I know, thats how i got it out last time. Just left them hanging with a soft cloth between them and the nose cone.

Can you imagine doing that every time you wanna leave the house? I already scratched the paint doing it. Oh, and didnt take into account the height of the 'lip' of the front door, destroying the underneath of the panel and breaking the V bit. Had to get it plastic welded as nothing was holding the bottom of the panels on.
All in all not a super experience.

Tried the 'tipping' technique but its just too narrow.

Looks like Im off to the real estate agents then... hahha

I have to agree with you there.....you bought the bike first, rather than mortgaging yourself to the max & not being able to afford the bike. Smart move.

Replace the front window with some nice wide french doors????

Talking of priorities, in an earlier phase of life when I rode/repaired? old Brit bikes I built a Panther 600 single Sloper in the dining room of a terraced house, having no garage. I was going to put a sidecar on it, so put it in the back garden which meant going trough the lounge because the kitchen door was around a corner, then having put the chair on then needed to break a large section of 6 foot tall wall out of the back yard to get the bike out (and in again). Bizarre the things that seem reasonable when young(er).
