IPX Driver

Quickie, I've just bought a external hard drive. When installing it says can't find an IPX file. I know IPX is something to do with networking. The hard drive was bought as it was network compatible.

Any suggestions where I can get this driver from, and also NDNS Bus, or something along those lines? This problem happens too all three pc's.

Cheers.

IPX/SPX is a network protocol yes, not much used these days, was used extensively in Netware.

Go to control>panel>networks/my networks on the general tab install IPX

How does this device connect USB / Firewire or Ethernet ?

What OS are you using ?
What is the manufacturer and model ?

Cant see any sort of NAS device these days using IPX unless it has some sort of compatability with Netware 3/4. I would thing that the IPX reference is to something else.

SmartDisk 'NetDisk' Network Direct Attached Storage. I'm using the Ethernet cable to my router, so all 3 home pc's can use this.

JPM, I can't see install IPX in My Networks options.

Cheers.

dont know if this will help but i found the software for the smartdisk at
http://sdkbase.smartdisk.com/display...t2&r=0.8393453

Looks like it uses proprietry method of communication and not standard smb or nfs emulation over ip.

We were about 50 yards from the beach and it was like sleeping in a bloody aeroplane the trailer was moving about so much!

The nippers were impressed though as I managed to keep the kite in the sky, at full string length, until they got bored of it.
