Is this bloke takin the mick or am I a bit daft?

Ebay item no 300057141918
He reckons it's a dual seat for a 900SL but it just looks like he's taken the cushion off, turned it round and stuck it on the back(!), not entirely sure what's going on with the footpegs either....

Hmm,it all looks a bit home made.
The pegs look odd because they retain the SL's hi-level exhaust mounts. Not sure about that seat unit tho!

There's no such thing as a dual seat for a SL/FE.
There are supports underneath the rider's seat and at the back near the lights. The front supports are designed to take the weight of the rider but the back ones probably won't take the weight of a pillion.

See here for some piccies.

If you want to carry a pillion on an SL, the entire rear section swaps over from a standard SS. These parts should be available fairly easily and cheap (eg from DD racers) and can be changed over in about half an hour and a cup of tea.

If you want to keep the high level cans then those are the right footpegs to use - but don't expect your pillions to thank you!

hope this helps.

Hmm, I still reckon the footpegs look a bit suspect - The exhaust mounting hole looks right but the 2 mounting holes look a bit small.....
It would be an interesting ride for the pillion though - knees round your ears and the seat flexing around like a good un until it eventually breaks!

It would be quite cool on my DD bike, the seat would make a nice display area for trophies......
