Will a 900ss (or any other Ducati) Tank Fit on a Monster M900?
As it says in the title....
I've been offered an M900 cheap bedause it has a damaged tank. I don't really like the bulbous shape of the Monster tank anyway, so I was wondering if I could fit a 900ss tank as they share an engine and so presumably the airbox and the profile of the underside of the tanks are the same shape. Obviously it would sit differently because the top spar of the frame slopes downwards at a steeper angle.
What tank is fitted to this Monster? I'm wondering if it's a 851 or 888 (or whatever bike the Monster frame is based on) because it seems to fit the frame so well.

851/888 Tank, Ron Jolley ran one on his Desmo Due bike, I run a 916 tank on my Monster race bike but you need to loose the sirbox and move the battery

Thanks. That's really helpful. I think I might have a 748 tank lurking in the recesses of my ex-wife's garden shed so it may have a new lease of life yet atop a Monster, depending on how much of a faff it is to make it fit.
