Skids:-A Huge Thankyou

As some of the DD contingency will be aware, I've suffered from some engine bogging down since I put the bike together for the start of the season. It manifested itself in various forms at different tracks and weather conditions.

The bike has been on 4 different dyno's with me explaining the problem and showing video and sound evidence from an onboard camera.

But all I got was a lighter pocket and a chart and still this prob that can't be replicated on a dyno.

So on Friday test day approaching the last session I was running my tale of woe past the fountain of all knowledge regarding Ducati AKA Kev Ellis.

He suddenly had a Eureka moment and said "is the accelerator pump facility turned on in the power commander". I connected the laptop and looked, it was, also had a setting attached. Once this gizmo has been activated it doesn't appear easy to get it greyed out, or deactivate it, so I just put the settings to zero.

Transformation was like night and day, I felt competitive in some good racing company. So much so that a 4th was had on the Saturday race.

So once again thanks for the heads up Kev and hope I can return a favour sometime.

+1 to that from me.
I would like to thank Kev and Miles for the help they gave me Sat. night to change my fork oil. This was instigated by Miles who after riding my bike around the pits changed my shock setting and set about the forks. In the race I was still at the back nursing a very sore eye but after this work was done i knocked 5 seconds off my lap time. thankyou both

Pleased to help Phil and I'll see if I can sort the immobiliser out for you at Donington.
As for your old bike in Mark's hands there is still more to come from that if he can get the suspension taylored to suit him. Fork oil and airgap was a start but rear ride height and Springs should move it on another step.

I also helped sort Chris Clarke's bike and maybe he'd be better off if I hadn't, although 45 championship points poorer.

I had also supplied Mike with a cut down harness for his Class A bike but we didn't get to see it at Cadwell, Hopefully Donington

At least this year we're not in search for Dallas's missing ponies, they all seem to be present and accounted for at the weekend

Why was Skids being the technical officer ever in doubt?!! If any of us have a problem we nearly all go to Skids - so point proven. Could you sort out my lap times please Kev?!!!

Hi Kev, further to our chat at cadwell, got her stripped down now and as you suspected the rear piston/rings have fallen out with each other, rings have left home via a nasty little worm track up to the crown and some small bits have embedded in the head,I think that bit will tidy up with no ill effect
the barrel has small scores but you can feel em with a fingernail so i think its bye bye barrel.
the front pot appears perfect as does the piston and rings
do you have a barrel and piston and do you think I should replace the all the rings anyway please let me know what you think
Regards Brian

Due process - even if everybody knows Skids is the man, he still has to be voted in to allow those who disagree their chance to say so.
