Good man - yep - caliper spacing will be 40mm mounts, you can get adapters to use a more modern 65mm caliper.

Strangely, my calves are big too from too many years of cycling etc and I occasionally have probs with boots - trying them first is a MUST before ordering online for stuff.

1. indicator lense - MOT fail if it shows white light from memory.

2. Clutch - try an inspect / clean to start with.

Good choice Paulo, and it sounds like you are having a Christmas to remember.

Questions all seem to of been answered - Skids has been spoilt by too many toys to play with - of course the SS is a classic, not as 'Iconic' as a 916 but they do look 'Right' in my opinion.

Here is a link to download owners and workshop manuals (acrobat needed to view).

http://www.duc.nu/manuals/

and here are a few more link for you to erm.....enjoy:

Merry Xmas - Frank

Does anyone know where I can find any manuals for my 1000SS? Had a look at the links you posted Frank and cant see any for the 1000 or are the 900 ones fine to use?

Cheers.
Paul

I have a feelung the 1000SS is too new for the workshop manuals to be 'freely available' if you follow my gist. I cant see the fuel injection / electronics being that different from the SSie models - but as usual, I could be wrong.

The Ducati website themselves usually post basic manuals for all the bikes since about year 2000

I'll have a mootch

The 900SSi.e manual should cover about 90% of your bike.Obviously the twin spark motor and some of the electrics will be differant.

Umm I thought this might be the case. Since buying the bike Ive found very little by way of info etc tailored for the 1000SS and Ducati dont seem that bothered either - makes me wonder if there is any future for the SS if you get my gist...

Anyway, I really appreciate your looking and for the links I shall check them out and see.

Thanks again, very much appreciated.
Paul
