Trophies are just a token, but it's nice to have a token that reflects the status of the series and the effort and money that the riders put in to it.
I'm surprised that someone hasn't asked Ducati if they have some old merchandise in a warehouse somewhere that could be turned in to awards? Even some minichamps or something mounted in a plastic case or something? They must have tons of stuff packed away in boxes - possibly??? Or old 800 pistons mounted on a 620 barrel, you know something a bit alternative.
