Dont think there were any antics..... Just their interpretation of his riding.... Oh and the embarrasment of being passed by a 50bhp bike.
I have RACED at close quaters with Griff and can confirm that he is one of the safest guys to be around on track, Respect shown and given at cadwell where there were 6 of us all going for it and it was safe.

couldnt agree more weeksy.....seems theres lots of racing gods now and they forget how it was when they first began trackdays, especially with their pride and joy (not race bike), and whether or not it was that close is immateriel, its the fact that the other guy was spooked by it

Maybe Mr Spooked by a very small Ducati should try the Novice group instead of exercising his ego by booking the Inters?

Maybe Mr Racer should be in fast....

Fast group has nothing to do with power... and everything to do with

EXPERIENCE

LINES

CORNER SPEED

How many little 125's who race, or CB500's who race do you see in the Inters ?

Today, at cadwell, one CB500 in Inters, one 125 in novice, so that's two

I'd usually agree with how to decide groups, but on a track like Snett with two hugely fast straights and a few people in the Fast group who could actually use a litre bike to potential, we thought it would be a dangerous place for a bike with that little top end speed to be. Knowing Griff, there's no way he treated them like they're claiming. Matey should have concentrated on what he was doing instead of farting about looking behind him.

Well I'm booked on the Oulton track day at the end of June in the fast group!
Is that the wrong move, seeing as it's my first time there?

psychlist...well, I'm not very brave and wouldn't ever take the little Ducati out in the Fast group. Depends how quick you can hustle it round and how confident you are I guess

Probably - I'm in Inters - and that's definitely the right place for me. I don't know Oulton very well and its a very quick track with some blind approaches.

IMHO Oulton is a circuit that's enjoyed by some very quick local lads who know it very well - the fast group for a first-timer is a brave move.

oh dear, no wonder he wasn't happy

i used to have so much fun at places like snett. over/undertaking (safely of course) all the "real mens bikes" on my 400 after they'd screamed passed with inches to spare on the staights only to brake to a virtual standstill for the bend

If I was at Snett I would have gone in inters too.

At the Brands day I did, I was in inters.

I'm planning on a Oulton day, which will be in inters.

It's a race track ffs, as long as you respect others (give em room etc) then I don't see what the problem is. I tell you one thing - it's not the 'racers' that cause the problems.

Ask Couch!!!
