I am looking forward to Mallory and while I think the faster guys will be a bit quicker (maybe a seond) its the pace of the middle of the field that interests me.

Whats the new tarmac like?

From what I experienced yesterday, I think anyone that was reasonably at their limit last year will maybe see about a second improvement. I doubt it will be much more than that. The tyres make a difference in Gerrards to me (although my bike may just be set up better now) but very little difference anywhere else. The quicker guys last year that are still racing this year were doing 1m05s laps. I think they will drop to 1m04s, maybe even at a push a high 1m03s, but I don't see much lower than that. However, what do I know, I hate the place... Is it too late to still do Spa?!

The Tarmac is Black, and slippery when wet. Other than that, it is Tarmac.

Sure it says 18 laps on entry form?

16 laps on my form, which in reality means a 15 lap race for me I reckon anyone 4 secs adrift of the leader will be lapped.

I'm sure it is 16. Which makes sense when you look at lap time compared to brands.

I'm dreading the place, never been there and seems most reckon it's a dump!

I have a horrible feeling it's gonna p1ss down too.

If I'm in a fit state to drive home on Saturday evening I'll be happy.

I have to admit, they have actually done a very good resurfacing job on it. It seems plenty grippy and didn't seem bumpy at all. As always, new surfaces and rain don't mix well...
