Cyclecat top yoke

Anyone got the Cyclecat top yoke kit to fit 748/9** Showas to an SS? Just got one and a very nice (if pricey) hunk of metal it is.

How many rings above the yoke should be showing? On my 748 I had 3 above the front lowest point on the top yoke. I guess there is a bit of leeway between stability v. quick steering; hope to fit a damper so I'd tend towards the latter.

On a minor point I'd assumed the row of threaded holes to fit reservoirs etc should be on the top of the yoke as fitted, but that would make the engraved Cyclecat logos upside down...?

TIA

Iain C.

Get in touch with Fiscusfish (Darren). He's done this but I think you've answered your own question - the more rings showing, the quicker the steering (but sacrificing stability). Just make sure that there's enough clearance for the mudguard and wheel when the forks are fully compressed.

Sure I remember someone with an SS here fitting one, just can't remember who. The Cyclecat FAQs covers everything except the top yokes unfortunately. I'll get round to e-mailing Cyclecat eventually.

Did you get it direct or via a UK supplier? What sort of price for the hunk of metal?

TIA, Rob

US$325 plus postage plus potentially the import tax. Decent exchange rate at the mo though.

Iain, the holes are meant to be underneath so you don' t see the points where the reservoirs attach to the clamp. See this link for details.

Yep, $325 plus $30 p&p; thought I'd got away with the VAT and import tax as they usually charge you for it at delivery, but just got a separate bill for £51 from Fedex, so you're probably looking at around £250 all in, a bit more than I wanted to spend actually. I think Cyclecat do a 'seconds' line with prices around a third- to a half-off, Cheetah I think its called.

On the plus side delivery is incredibly fast, ordered on a thursday afternoon, arrived on the saturday.

Thanks for the pic Chi, that makes sense now!

Bit late now but I got mine "cheaply" from Stuart at Spareshack. The discount he offered to DSC members paid for my membership...

Haven't needed a steering damper with these settings on any trackdays I've done.
