Ahh but if there were not compulsory drops I could have gone past Kev P because I wouldn't have sat out the final race at Oulton and probably picked up a few extra points, even if I cruised round like Hugh did Lol :-)

But hey ho

I would have done Oulton too and been trying harder at Catsle Doom rather than sitting back and being courteous if all rounds counted....wouldnt have won the title but may have affected who did

My thoughts are anyone who steps up to the mark from trackdays to racing is a winner for me its not the winning but the taking part and having fun, some of the best people i have ever met have been in the DD paddock, riders/spectatators and organisers so as long as i am enjoying it it dont bother me if i come first or last, not saying a win or even a third place would not be welcome but the main thing is getting out there, doing it and going home ready to do it again.

... and Hugh would have tried harder, and Kev would have been more careful, and I would have pottered round for my 4 points to win the championship.... but these things didn't happen, so it is pointless talking about them. The bottom line is that for the races people scored points in, dropping points or not made no difference as with just about every other year.... so I don't think anyone should be concerned of the effect.

You were racing with me in the second race at Cadwell, and I am sure you were chasing me at Pembrey. You have plenty of speed, and you could be the Phil/Matt for this years Championship

the point is all races will make a difference I think. Last year maybe not as most the front runners had the same kinda results & dnf. Have a look at the previous year and I *think* Matt L would have been champ with 1 or not 2 rounds to go

but agree - totally irrelevant - flag drops bullshit stops n all that

which is in 2 weeks

but my point is all races made a difference last year. In fact, they mattered more because so many were non-results... So every result mattered, just like it will this year. I don't think anyone will race any differently, and I don't think it will make any difference to the results (like it can be proved it hasn't from past years). Matt may have won a round earlier... But he would still have won.

With 23 races this year there is probably less chance of one bad race having much effect, but one bad meeting with 3 DNF/DNS results and thats a lot of points you could be missing out on
