I Need a bit more grunt....

I have decided to have some engine upgrading done to my SPS.
can any of you experts out there suggest some good options, need to combine road and track use though.
I have allocated between £1500-£1800 for project.

Try speaking to Sigma performance, On there web site they have a write up about a 996Bip Grunter motor they did good things with on a tight budget, if they could achieve the same sort of pertcentage gains for your bike you would end up with hell of a motor.

robin I was thinking the same thing,
spending on my engine to get the power up a bit, cant help thimking that you just dont get a return on the investment when its time to sell. maybe this is not valid to you, but this was waht led me to want to upgrade to a testrasetta lump.

ok you lossose a little when you trade in, but you can always sell and buy privately.

if you are really attached to your machine (after all youve been through) the "full monty" from sigma should assist you, and im sure that they can make any other mods within your budget good value.

best luck
Bungi

Hi Bungi, I have allready spent more on the bike than it's market value anyway, if I added up all mods done so far (and repairs).
So a bit more is not going to make much difference.
I really like bike now, got it just the way I want, just need to get bit more output.
Would like a 996R/998R , but would probably end up doing the same to them all over again, it's that personal touch syndrome , gets me everytime mate.
I think we all suffer from it

cheers

yep, but those ponies don't come cheap.
But then again, what in the duke world does.
Enjoy it mate, soon as I have had my sps tweaked up , will need to do a back to back mate, just to see how much better the 996R is.....
Just got hold of some nice new 996R carbon fairings, to stick on the SPS, Well if I can't buy one, might aswell have looks of one instead.

Cheers

just let me know and we will have to meet up then do a swapsy. should be fun.
those carbon fairings are so light, could'nt believe it, pity the seat and nose are not carbon also. i am going to change the carbon mudguard for the red with white stripe and the corse badge on it, looks soooo much better. i have nearly done more miles in two weeks than the guy who owned it before me had done in two years, which was only 700. good luck with the tweaking, keep us informed.

Well, looks like some 996R thrashing is needed I think.
Been out today, hav'nt had any serious work done yet, just some fine tuning of what I've got.
The SPS is really running excellent now, might not need to spend heaps of cash just yet.
Adam, I reckon you will be pushed to get the better of my old thumper now mate.
It's reckoning time I thinks....

day and time, I'm taking no prisoners mate
cheers
